Shitty Pigeon — a reinterpreted work from the artist’s series, in which she continues to explore the boundaries between organic material, image, and social projection.

The composition is executed on a black background, where the image of a pigeon is formed directly from pigeon droppings. The removal of neon elements intensifies the radical minimalism of the work and returns it to a primary material logic, in which the bird simultaneously becomes both subject and carrier of the image.

At the center of the work is the image of the urban pigeon as a historically domesticated and later displaced animal. The work refers to the multilayered history of human–pigeon relations: from their use as food and as a means of postal communication to their participation in military conflicts, after which the bird gradually lost its utilitarian function and was pushed into the urban margins.

Today, this image is often reduced to negative urban projections — pigeons are equated with “dirt” or “vermin,” subjected to harsh population control measures, and constructed as objects of disgust. The work critically examines this process of reduction, in which a living being is transformed into a cultural construct.

Shitty Pigeon functions as a visual investigation of mechanisms of representation: how a bird that has historically been part of human civilization becomes a carrier of contradictory projections — from a useful instrument to a dehumanized symbol of the “undesirable.” In this context, the pigeon appears not as an image created by the artist, but as an image shaped and distorted by the human gaze.
