Cubic Shitty Abstraction is a work about the transformation of chaos into structure — and the simultaneous impossibility of fully containing that structure. Originally built around neon accents, the composition was entirely reworked by the artist: the bright colours disappeared beneath layers of black, leaving behind only relief, trace, and direction of movement. In this work, neon survives only as the ghost of its former presence.

Across the almost monochromatic black surface appear fragments of pigeon droppings — a natural material the artist uses without altering its original colour. These organic inclusions enter into conflict with the geometric structure of the composition: squares, lines, and streams of paint flowing in different directions. The work balances between control and collapse, architecture and biology.

The black drips, once neon, no longer function as decorative elements. Instead, they resemble a technical error, a system failure, or a trace of time dissolving the work’s previous version. Through this near-total rejection of colour, the surface becomes tactile and tense: black begins to exist in multiple states — matte, wet, dense, liquid, organic.

In Cubic Shitty Abstraction, Misha Kush continues her exploration of pigeon droppings as an autonomous painterly material, though here it no longer appears as a purely natural gesture. Instead, it becomes part of an urban abstraction resembling a map of decay, an archive of surfaces, or a fragment of city noise fixed in black.
