An oval, egg-shaped work that references the idea of genesis — of thought, of perception, of a consciousness that is still forming and has not yet settled into fixed boundaries. The wooden frame, custom-made for this piece, has been manually transformed by the artist: textured with plaster, painted in deep black, and treated not as a passive boundary but as an active sculptural element that extends the work beyond the image itself.

At the center of the composition are two pigeons, placed vertically one above the other. The upper bird defecates onto the lower one, yet this act is intentionally anthropomorphized: the excrement takes on human-like qualities, shifting the scene from a naturalistic depiction into a psychological and social commentary. Around this “dropping,” instead of flies, there are bees — introducing another layer of interpretative tension, where what is usually associated with decay is visually confused with something perceived as productive or benign.

The background is rendered in a Tiffany blue tone — a soft mint color that, in daylight, gives the scene a decorative and almost calming quality, sharply contrasting with the uncomfortable nature of the subject matter. The work is also embedded with ultraviolet light, which radically transforms its perception: under UV, the composition becomes reminiscent of a neon sign, similar to those seen in urban nightscapes.

In UV light, the palette shifts into colder blues and the image takes on a luminous, sign-like quality. The visual emphasis narrows, and the central motif becomes more stark and unavoidable, reducing the composition to its essential signal.

At night, the glowing element isolates the act itself, turning it into a symbolic marker — a point of attention that cannot be ignored.

“Valera Life” explores distorted perception and the mechanisms of self-deception, where disrespect or hostility can be misread for a long time as something harmless or even meaningful. Only a shift in perspective reveals the underlying structure of the interaction.

The work balances irony, bodily humor, and psychological metaphor, using absurdity as a tool to expose uncomfortable truths about perception and relationships.

This is a three-layer artwork with a shifting visual identity depending on the lighting conditions. In daylight, the piece reveals one composition; under ultraviolet light, it transforms into a second image; and in nighttime lighting, it reveals a third distinct visual layer.

The work is presented in a handmade custom frame crafted from ash wood, plastered and finished with a pronounced surface texture. Inside, an integrated UV light strip enhances the transformation effect and activates the hidden layers of the composition.
